TO READ NOW: My February Update

TimeHop on Facebook reminded me that I first announced Branwyn about two years ago. That seems like a long time, but with a new series, I really wanted to take the time to solidify the world, the characters, the voice, the plan for the series.

While I launched the prequesl in ebook and paperback publicly, behind the scenes, here were a lot of rewrites of the draft, commissioning of character art, cover design (for my first hardcover too--more on that below), created dozens of promotional materials, and, of course, ongoing writing and plotting of OTHER stories, too, for those of you who aren't fans of urban fantasy Fae.

But now, Branwyn is finally ready for her debut! And there will be some exciting days leading up to it:

  • Feb. 23 is the cover reveal of book 1. I prepped an sent over 100 cover reveal packets to lovely readers all over the world who signed up to help with the reveal, including a fun scratch-off card, character art, a map, and sticker. (Share Feb. 23-March 8 to enter the raffle!)

  • Feb. 23 is also the day you can preorder Body Snatcher.

  • March 1 is when I'll send out ARCs, which also happens to be St. David's Day--Wales' patron saint--a perfect time to meet my take on beings from Welsh (Celtic) myth who have been exiled from the British Isles' Underhill to Hill Country, Texas. (Interested in an ebook ARC? Email me!)

  • April 23 is when the book will be available globally via Amazon (and Kindle Unlimited) in ebook, paperback, and HARDCOVER (for the first time--with a unique cover). More on that soon.

The Branwyn Blood: The Exiled Fae of Texas series is a gritty (adult) urban fantasy with crime-solving/noir vibes, relatable characters with disabilities, diverse backgrounds, morally gray ethics, and magical surprises. It will be most appreciated by fans of Mercy Thompson by Patricia Briggs, Kate Daniels by Ilona Andrews, Jane Yellowrock by Faith Hunter, The Cruel Prince by Holly Black, and books by Annette Marie and Hailey Edwards. DARE TO PEEK INTO THE WORLD OF THE EXILED FAE BELOW.

In addition to planning this all and writing a new co-authored series with LeAnn Mason, I attended two friends' weddings around the world and read 8 books!!! All were pretty great and several highly recommended and lots from my local library--see my reviews on Goodreads. That's a huge jump into my 50-book goal for 2024! What did you read in January?

I spent a long weekend in New Orleans (here's a bookstore I saw) for a friend's wedding in mid-January (left); LeAnn Mason and I are writing a new series--here's a mood board (middle); I (and Ty) stuffed over 100 envelopes with character cards and the cover of Branwyn Blood book 1 to reveal in February (right).

TO ANTICIPATE: Cover Reveal Feb. 23

Cover Reveal Feb. 2

You're free to open the packet as soon as you get it--and scratch off the cover if you DARE to peek at the exiled Fae of Texas (though I suggest you take a video or photo before and after for sharing later). BUT DO NOT SHARE THE COVER WITH OTHERS UNTIL FEBRUARY 23! Consider the early peek a bonus for helping me share.

Share the Cover on Feb. 23

On Feb. 23 and through March 8, please SHARE THE Body Snatcher (The Exiled Fae of Texas #1) COVER EVERYWHERE.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to all who signed up to share--and all the readers who waited 2 years for this series!
