Book Con Fun

Halfway through 2024! It's going so fast, isn't it? Or is that just me?

Last week, I had the amazing opportunity to attend panels with other authors, meet new readers, see fans and peers in person, sell some books, and dress up like Branwyn for a cosplay, all at UTOPiAcon in Nashville. This year was the last of that con, which was nostalgic for me since I attended the event back in 2016 as a reader. It was my introduction into indie authoring and I met Ednah Walters in person (may she rest in peace), who motivated me to publish.

This year, I mostly got to hang with my co-author LeAnn Mason and amazing author Nikki Jefford, who I met in 2016 too. We even shot some videos while there!

You can check them out on my social media (speaking of, I'm back on TikTok! Are you?): @lbcarterauthor on all platforms.

What character would you dress up as for a book con cosplay contest?

RECAP: Thanks to UTOPiAcon Readers, authors, and organizers!

THANK YOU to all who came out to UTOPiAcon. I had such a blast meeting everyone in person! If you took photos, please tag me in them. I always forget to take photos, enjoying being present in the experience. I hope all who grabbed copies of my books enjoy them!

Remember, I do ship signed books, so even if you can't make it to a con, you can still order!

What's next? Well, we haven't publicly announced it yet, but LeAnn Mason and I are signed up for Once Upon A Book in Florida next year (September 2025)! I'm excited!

UP NEXT: What I'm Writing for CampNaNoWriMo

Two book covers surrounded by tropes

So, what am I writing during CampNaNoWriMo this July (the choose-your-own-goal version of national novel writing month, which is in November)?

Well, Branwyn Blood 2, full of dragons and secrets, is in progress with a fall release planned. You can preorder now.

LeAnn Mason and I also just sent the first few chapters of our brand-new story to our alpha readers to see what they think. It's a completely new world and we may go different places with it, so we're testing the waters. We're also working on another series we've started, so more to come from us (yes, we decided to keep each other after meeting in person).
